Yan Binsse completed his studies in cinema at UQAM in 2003. Right after graduation, he becomes first assistant director, a profession he will continue to thrive in for 20 years. On set, he stands out notably in Haute démolition, Le Plongeur, Manuel de la vie sauvage, L'arracheuse de temps, Le Monstre and Les beaux Malaises.

Always in touch with the content of the projects, and giving it first-class importance, Yan wrote multiple short-films acclaimed in festivals, as well as being the scriptwriter on two feature-length movies.

Without abandoning his practice as a first assistant, he is now reorienting his career, currently working as a co-writer on two television series, in addition to offering his services as a script-editor and screenwriting advisor.
