For more than 20 years, Sophie Vajda has been involved in Montreal's theatrical life. She was in Andromaque (TNM), Comédie russe (Opsis Theatre), Lorenzaccio (Denise-Pelletier Theatre), Les 7 jours de Simon Labrosse (Manufacture Theatre) and in Toxique (Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui). For the younger audiences, she performed in Les Zurbains IV (Le Clou Theatre) and in the production Contes d’enfants réels by Carrousel Theatre, which she has been performing for 10 years, both in French and Spanish, across Quebec and abroad.
We have also seen her on television, in shows including La Vie, la Vie, Histoires de filles, Les 7 jours de Simon Labrosse, Vrak la vie, Unité 9, 30 Vies and Au secours de Béatrice, but we know her especially for her role as Victoria Laporte which she performed for 8 years in the extremely popular youth TV show Ramdam.
Sophie Vajda directed her first play, Sexy Béton: L’abandon, a documentary play written by Annabel Soutard, which was taken on tour the following year. She also created and directed three shows/readings for young audiences as part of the series Lis-moi quelque chose pour voir at the National Library of Quebec, readings that were once again offered to the public during the following season. Recently, she appears in Doute raisonnable and À coeur battant.
For several years, Sophie has lent her voice to several advertising and voice over projects, in addition to being the official voice of ARTV television network.
