Patrick Drolet has defended, under the direction of Bernard Émond, consistent and complex roles, namely La neuvaine and Tout ce que tu possèdes, which earned him numerous nominations in festivals, in Quebec as well as internationnally (Génie, Jutra, Festival de Locarno). His interpretation of André Mathieu in the film L'enfant prodige by Luc Dionne registers as a memorable moment in his career. We have also seen him, in Le grand départ by Claude Meunier, Le génie du crime by Louis Bélanger, De père en flic by Émile Gaudreault, Embrasse-moi comme tu m’aimes by André Forcier and Ça sent la coupe! by Patrice Sauvé among others.
On the small screen, other than forefront roles in series like Mémoires vives, 30 vies, Victor Lessard II, Mensonges IV, Eaux Turbulentes, La Maison-Bleue, District 31, La Faille, Premier trio and Sorcière. It is the series Les Invincibles that allows him to meet his accomplices Jean-François Rivard and François Létourneau, with whom he met again in C’est comme ça que je t’aime since 2020.
On stage, he has played with many directors like Frédéric Blanchette or Daniel Brière, but it is with Olivier Kemeid and Alexis Martin that he commits as an author and director, collaborating on Rabelais, Tout ce qui est debout se couchera and Cabaret C.L.I.M.
Patrick published his first novel, J’ai eu peur d’un quartier autrefois, with the Éditions Hurtubise in 2009, and a short story under the form of a poetic essay, Un souvenir ainsi qu’un corps solide ont plusieurs tons de noirceur, with the Éditions Les 400 coups. His second novel, Pour une dernière fois, je m’abaisserai dans tes recoins, was published in november 2013 at the Éditions Druide.
