Julie de Lafrenière danced a lot growing up. She first trained in dance during College and even graduated with a degree in that field. Then, her love for acting took over and it’s in May 2009 that she finished her training at the National Theatre School of Canada. Upon her graduation, she participated in her first professional show, playing the role of Mireille in Pieds nus dans le parc, produced by the Theater la Chant'amuse in Baie-Comeau.

Since then, within the Montreal theatre scene, Julie has worked with Marc-André Bourgault in Sex Random (Th. De L'Esquisse, 2010) as well as in Phèdre (Les Défricheurs, 2010), Gaétan Paré in Les Bonnes (Balustrade, 2010) and other public readings for the CEAD, Christian Baril in Solstice (Th. 450, 2011), Jocelyn Roy in Montreal Apoklyspe (Th. La Chapelle, 2012), Frederick Moreau in Mais n’te promène donc pas toute nue (Espace Libre, 2012). She was also in the play Les Morb(y) des, written by Sébastien David and directed by Gaétan Paré (Th. De Quat'sous).

Since February 2010, she has gained experience in narration through recording audio books for the National Library and Archives of Quebec with the company Point-par-point Inc. She has also worked for the Lasalle College, recording audio classes for the students. In 2014 she became the voice for the Vrak 2 TV channel.

On the big screen, she was seen in the feature film Laurentie, directed by Simon Lavoie and Mathieu Denis, in Catimini by Nathalie St-Pierre, Bungalow by Lawrence Côté-Collins and RU by Charles-Olivier Michaud.  She was also in a short film by in Jeanne Leblanc, Une nuit avec toi

On television, she played Sophie in the daily show 30 Vies by Fabienne Larouche as well as Sabrina in Ruptures. In 2023, she lends one of the lead roles in the series Les Bombes. She also embodies Annabelle Poirier in Alexis Durand-Brault's Mégantic
